Dr. Robert Birenbaum, owner of Eye Pieces - Plano, announced today that he has partnered with the Kidd's Kids charitable organization by extending his practice's products and services at no cost to the children served by the charity.
Beginning immediately, every child involved with Kidd's Kids - a non-profit organization founded by nationally syndicated morning show personality Kidd Kraddick - will be provided complimentary eye exams at the Eye Pieces practice inside the Shops at Legacy in Plano. In addition, all Kidd's Kids in need of prescription eye wear will receive corrective lenses at no cost.
"I have admired what Kidd Kraddick has been doing for these wonderful children for many years," said "Dr. Bob," as he is known to his younger clientele. "When I learned of the need many of these kids have for expert eye care and prescription products, I jumped at the opportunity to pitch in. It was one of the easiest decisions I've made in my 40-plus years in private practice."
Kidd's Kids, a program of the Kraddick Foundation, was established in 1991 with the hope of making a difference in the lives of terminally and chronically ill children. Each year, Kidd's Kids offers five amazing days of suspended reality to children whose lives have been ravaged by disease, with an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World for the kids and their immediate family.
"I am very grateful to Dr. Bob for stepping up with such a generous offer to Kidd's Kids," said Kidd Kraddick. "With more than 150 of our kids living in the DFW area, there is a tremendous need for professional eye care, and many of the families we serve simply can't afford it on top of their already-massive medical bills. Dr. Bob's initiative is a true God-send to these families."
Dr. Bob loves seeing kids at his practice, and he promises to make every exam an enjoyable experience for his youngest customers. The staff at Eye Pieces - Plano understands the importance of good vision and eye health to children's performance throughout their school years. They want every child associated with Kidd's Kids to experience the best available optometric eye care and corrective lenses, where appropriate.
