The cakes and the candles won’t last, but realistic photos that capture that essence of the wedding will remain forever saying documentary wedding photographer from Cambridge

A wedding's a once in a lifetime opportunity for many, and it makes sense that you cover it as such. While posed and formal shots are a part of traditional wedding shoots and a must in every wedding, it is the candid shots that help you recollect the memories of your wedding even years after the event.
Documentary photographers capture the emotions and the drama that unfolds during the wedding. Nothing is orchestrated; all that's captured is something that has actually happened. Thus you have images of your parent's reaction as you kiss your bride/groom, or your little niece looking at you admiringly when you're wearing makeup.
"But don't undermine the value of conventional portrait shots, because these are the photos that can be given as souvenirs to friends and family. These photos find their place on the mantle or handed over to future generations as heirlooms. It's best to get a healthy blend of the two styles," says Andrew Hind, a wedding photographer from Cambridge. He manages the Lightworks Photography Studio and is a member of the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalists Association.
"Group shots are very important indeed, but I make sure that I plan them well with the client. I normally ask clients about how long they want to spend doing them, who is going to be in them, where and when are they to be taken, and who will take up the job of assembling everyone. This helps to keep the stress out of group shots," adds Andrew. Planning ahead can also ensure that the photographer does not miss to capture priceless moments when arranging and organizing a group.
But the best thing about this style is that you don't really have to worry about the photographer hindering with the proceedings on the stage. He/she stands like a fly on the wall in an unobtrusive manner and documenting the events as they unfold.
