Having opened its doors just one year before the Great Depression, the odds were against this small startup. Originally known as Haskell Printing and Stationary Company, Haskell has survived a world war, several recessions and the hardest economic downturn this country has ever known. Despite these odds, Haskell has endured all this plus the rise of the office superstores and transition to an online world. What makes Haskell able to survive in a world dominated by major retailers?
Through its flagship site, OfficeSalesUSA.com, the company now known as Haskell New York Inc., sells office supplies, office furniture and printing services nationally and internationally. With so much competition in the mix, the status quo would not suffice. The company prides itself with one of the fastest response times in the business. Most calls are answered immediately by a knowledgeable staff member and transferring is rarely necessary. It's this attention to detail and customer relationships that makes Haskell stand out among the competition.
With its GSA Schedule 75 and AbilityOne partnership, Haskell today can sell to both the federal government and general public. Since its acceptance into the DOD (Department of Defense) Emall, Haskell New York Inc. has expanded its reach even more to government employees. Despite this, Haskell remains committed to providing fast, friendly service and competitive prices to all its customers.
After 8 1/2 decades of business and three generations of Isaacsons, the family owned company retains its commitment to personal attention and even has a Live Support option now on its site. Haskell also gives back by supporting the Wounded Warrior Project and AbilityOne Program. Through the sale of Skilcraft items, Haskell supports AbilityOne which provides employment opportunities to people with extreme disabilities including the blind, servicemen wounded in action and individuals with limited mobility.
Haskell today continues to grow by providing new services such as branded printing with business names and logos imprinted on pens, refrigerator magnets, campaign/event buttons, etc. In fact, with new product offerings, the company now has almost a half a million products it carries. Although the company may be growing, the commitment to its customers remains the same:
Providing the best service and relationships with customers is a hallmark of Haskell New York Inc. that continues to drive the company despite increased cost this requires. Even with today's automation, every order is still manually checked and confirmed line by line by at least two people to make sure orders are filled completely and delivered. This may not seem efficient to some but to Haskell, it's still the only way to do business.
