Home appliance trends come and go but no matter how different or unusual they seem; they usually enjoy a large following. People love something fresh and new, and that is no different when it comes to choosing home appliances.
Flash back to the seventies when the color choice for kitchen appliances was either avocado green or harvest gold. Almost every new kitchen in suburbia boasted cook stoves and refrigerators in these colors. For the cautious ones concerned about the passing fad of colorful appliances, white was always an option and continues to be favored by many homeowners today.
White home appliances will probably always be the standard due to their clean and traditional appeal. White appliances are found in homes and apartments everywhere. Many builders prefer white appliances because they are usually more affordable than black or stainless steel.
Stainless steel appliances are still very popular with those that want clean modern kitchen designs. These appliances include microwaves, ranges, refrigerators and washers and dryers with the energy star rating, meaning that homeowners can expect lower utility bills when using these appliances. Space-saving appliances continue to be a part of 2013 home appliance trends. Microwaves installed over cook tops free up kitchen counter space for less clutter. Stacking washer and dryer combos provide the load capacity of separate laundry appliances while delivering essentially the same cleaning power.
