BOTOX® is composed of a safe, purified protein, which must be injected by a qualified physician, like Dr. Stewart. Dr. Stewart explains that, while the injections are normally quite safe, they may not be right for everyone. "BOTOX® is not for patients who are pregnant, or breast-feeding," he says, "Patients who have a pre-existing skin condition or infections are also usually not considered good candidates for the treatment."
Side-effects associated with this procedure may include muscles weakness, swelling or bruising at the injection site, and headaches. "Fortunately, these side-effects are temporary," Dr. Stewart says, "Most of my patients who have received BOTOX® report feeling little pain or discomfort, and love the natural-looking results.
