Metro Ford, 9000 NW 7th Avenue, in Miami, has been chosen by a customer lucky enough to be designated by Ford Motor Company to be able to purchase the All-New 2017 Ford GT Supercar.
Ford instituted a rigorous process to determine to whom they will sell the 250 GTs they will build in the 2017 model year. The company received over 6,000 applications but will produce only 1000 during the next four years.
Metro Ford had 12 customers who placed deposits to purchase the car. Only one was successful in convincing Ford that he was the best candidate to drive this incredible machine.
Each applicant had to apply online and demonstrate to Ford not only that they were loyal customers, but also that they will be using the car in their daily activities instead of collecting them for investment purposes. Many of the successful applicants used social media to convince Ford they were the type of GT customers they were looking for. They produced elaborate YouTube videos and set up pages in Facebook, Instagram and other media to show how they would be strong advocates for the Ford brand.
The GT was introduced by Ford in 2005 and became an instant hit. Soon it became a collector's item and its value shot up. At that time it was powered by 5.4 liter supercharged V8 generating 550 hp and and 500 lb-ft of torque. The new 2017 version boasts a powerful twin-turbocharged V6 producing 647 hp and 550 hp.
The 2017 Ford GT has been acclaimed by the international press as one of the best supercars ever. It is considered a street-legal racing machine by many of the critics. Some of the reasons for this: The seats are non-adjustable, it comes with five racing modes, the body is made of carbon fiber, and the entire car lowers down to just 2.7 inches off the ground. It is capable of reaching speeds of 216 miles per hour.
The GT's aerodynamics are enhanced by a deployable wing at the rear, flaps that open or close, and special ducts at the front of the car to aid the flow of air with minimum resistance.
Metro Ford has been informed that the Miami customer's GT will arrive at the dealership sometime in the month of October. The dealership plans a 3-day exhibition of the Supermachine in its showroom. Customers and press will be invited to witness first hand this impressive machine before it is delivered to the fortunate individual chosen by Ford to be one of the few lucky owners.
