"Dynamsoft Further Improves Its Software Configuration Management Solution"
VANCOUVER, BC -- Dynamsoft today announced an updated release of its software configuration management (SCM) solution -- SCM Anywhere, a SQL Server-based SCM tool with fully integrated version control, bug tracking and build automation (CruiseControl.NET and ANT).
Designed to help distributed teams manage their whole software development lifecycle, SCM Anywhere supports integration with Visual Studio, Eclipse and Macromedia Studio, SQL Server Management Studio as well as other MSSCCI-compatible IDEs. Cross-platform clients are provided to allow accessibility from Windows, Linux, Mac, and etc.
With the new version, a web client of the Issue Tracking module was introduced. It is designed for the team members who don't need IDE or the version control part. Via the Issue Tracking web client, all project stakeholders can work as a team in an efficient way: Managers track the project progress and assign tasks with several clicks, test teams submit bugs, support teams submit feature requests from customers, and even clients can have their own accounts to easily get involved.
"SCM Anywhere is all about team work," said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. "Dynamsoft has a distributed team and we ourselves use the product on a daily basis. The efficiency has been noticeably improved since we start using SCM Anywhere as our project management tool."
The updated product also added a new installation method. On top of an EXE installer, SCM Anywhere Server now can also be set up as a system service via web browsers. It works on any Windows platforms which support service, such as Windows XP (SP2), 2003 (SP1), Vista and 2008.
SCM Anywhere has two editions: SCM Anywhere Hosted (delivered as a SaaS application) and SCM Anywhere Standalone (deployed on site).
