The Hifi Page was formed when a bunch of guys got sick of the nonsense that was spreading across the internet about audio from people who clearly had little understanding in the subject matter. In the contrary, the editors of this blog are experts in the field. Their training and experience have come from years in the telecommunications industry, working in projects like the Australian wireless telephony network, private wireless networks and in defence. Their knowledge and understanding of electro-acoustic concepts such as noise, transmission, skin effect, interference and digital standards are second to none.
A number of blog contributors are also DIY enthusiasts. Matt, the resident musician, builds his own gear. Over the years he has constructed a multitude of various hifi components, such as amplifiers, speakers, phonostages, filters, hifi racks, audio interconnect cables and speaker cables.
Matt's latest creation, a minimalist hifi rack, has won some minor online awards for craftsmanship and creativity, and we're proud be showcasing it on our site. He also has some other projects coming along which we will be documenting as they are completed.
If you're keen on hifi, or want to learn about the intricacies of the human perception of sound, head over to the Hifi Page and start discovering today!
