The Gracie Barra Association is a global organization formed by more than 200 BJJ schools. Its mission is to train the body, mind and spirit of its students through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Gracie Barra was founded by Master Carlos Gracie Junior who has an experience of over thirty years in this field. The association has a vision of developing individuals’ body, mind and spirit and strengthening them to face challenges in life. Gracie Barra Montreal now offers BJJ classes to kids also. Now you can enroll your children in Jiu-Jitsu classes and get them to learn this martial art and combat sport.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport derived from Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo that focuses on grappling. It teaches that even a weaker person can successfully defend against a stronger person by using proper techniques. This is not just a system of fighting but involves much more that that. It also teaches the importance of discipline, self confidence, respect, integrity and team work in life.
Montreal BJJ classes not only teach its students the “Gentle Art” but also help them develop important life skills. These classes are designed to teach your kids a complete self defense system and how to intelligently cope with bullying and peer pressure. Montreal Jiu-Jitsu also teaches your kids positive social values and helps them get along with others and treat them respectfully.
Montreal self defense starts with the conditioning of your children. The program then integrates self defense techniques and combat sport with skill oriented games. This helps them improve their motor skills, agility, flexibility, coordination and concentration. The practice of BJJ is not restricted to teach just the self defense system but also emphasizes on individual development. Children are taught to go beyond the competitive realm and develop themselves as individuals.
