"The press meets of the movie Action Replayy took place in the presence of Vipul and Khiladi Kumar answering the reporters’ questions very enthusiastically."
The famed pair of Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar return to the big screen in a 'dhinchak' retro fashion with a romantic comedy titled 'Action Replayy'. The two have previously given hits
in Aankhein, Waqt, Namastey London and Singh is Kinng. Directed by Vipul Shah, the movie also stars the bahu of bollywood Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Neha Dhupia, Randhir Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Om Puri and Rajpal Yadav, among others. The press meet of the
movie took place in the presence of Vipul and Khiladi Kumar answering the reporters' questions very enthusiastically.
The movie is based on Vipul's 1994 Gujarati play of the same name, and is a fun time travel comedy that captures the essence of the Mumbai on 1970s, no relation to Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (no pun intended). If Salman released his Dabangg on the
auspicious occasion of Eid, then Akki is not to fall behind and will release the movie on one of the biggest festival of India – Diwali, 5th November. 'Metro' Music Director Pritam has provided the music for the retro flick and the movie was made on a budget
of Rs. 40 crore.
Talking about the movie, the earlier action and now pre-dominantly comedy suepr-star Akshay says that 1970s sensation Vinod Khanna was his inspiration for the character in the movie. He also adds that he based his long hair-do and way of walking on
Vinod's style. When asked for his interest towards the 70s era, Producer and Director Vipul says that there it's a mere coincidence that his film is releasing in the same time and there is no intention of riding the free boat of earlier hit retro movies.
The music of the movie, Shah adds, will have a strong connect with the youth. He states the fact that even the youth of today love the songs of the 1970s, especially the ones by the legendary R D Burman and he is sure that the songs of this movie also be a hit
with the audience. The trailer of the movie released on Akshay's 43rd birthday got tremendous response from the audience and was an instant hit across all channels and websites. Viewers can enjoy the trailer and catch the event on NyooTV.com.
